On Monday, September 29, 2008, The University of Texas School of Law hosted a discussion about the current financial crisis and what the various proposed solutions may mean for the future of our economy and our country.

“Models and Mayhem: The Current Financial Crisis” featured Professor Henry Hu, who discussed the landscape of the crisis, analyzed derivatives and other themes involved, and suggested measures to begin the process of recovery. Commentary on Professor Hu’s presentation was provided by Professor Tom McGarity, who spoke on administrative agency issues; Professor Dan Rodriguez, who discussed separation of powers implications; and Professor Jay Westbrook, who analyzed bankruptcy aspects of the crisis.
